About me

a little introduction to my activity.

My point of view

I chose this job because i appreciate follow a project from the seed to the first fruit of the tree. That’s why I make what I set up, and I set up what I have made. I can make big project with others workers, but I really want to keep a human size workshop (2 or 3 workers max.).

I work with wood because it’s sustainable and living material. As long as it’s possible, I supply my workshop with regional or french wood and sustainable consumable.

Choose a woodworker, it’s choose to store carbon in your house !

I first studied naval engineering at the Centrale Nantes School before creating an aquaponics company in Paris with two friends (check yourself to discover what is aquaponics systems).

After this enriching experience, I wanted to return to producing handmade crafts as I had done with my elders (picture on the left) and so I turned to carpentry while working in the decorative industry in Paris region.

The lockdown of 2020 prompted me to join my partner in the Gers where I met Pierre Lepiney (atelierslepiney.com). I caught the bug for traditional woodworking, attention to detail and the passion for a job well done. It is thanks to him that I started to make paper plans and that I enjoy spending time on the finish touches !

Even though Pierre will retire soon (reluctant I think), I am proud to continue working in the way he has taught me and happy that his specialised way of working lives on into the next generation.

My workshop

My partner and I bought our house in June 2022 and my workshop opened in August 2022. I am excited for every new project wich helps the workshop develop and improve. I am grateful to all those who have helped make this place grows.

First of all, I thank Beatrice (my partner), Pierre Lepiney, Serge Carrere, Jérémie Dubos, Matthew & Tessa, Laure Vaqué, my parents, Marc & Magali Sourdois, Marion & Nicolas Sarlé and all the others who will follow…
